Gather Brewing was founded by Mike and Rachel Voeller with the goal of creating a welcoming place for people to come together.

The idea for Gather began in 2014 when the Coast Guard moved their family to Jersey City, New Jersey. During that time, Mike worked as a Culinary Specialist aboard a ship, and they lived across from one of the state's largest biergartens. This experience sparked an interest in craft beer and home brewing, but more importantly, it showed them how powerful shared tables and consistent gathering can be in building real community.

Later that year, Mike received a home brewing kit, and what started as a hobby quickly became a long-term goal rooted in creating something that brought people together in a meaningful way.

In 2018, the Voellers left the Coast Guard, returned to San Antonio, and began working toward opening their own brewery. After years of planning, recipe development, home brewing, and a full renovation, Gather Brewing Company opened its first location in Universal City, Texas in December of 2021.

Today, Gather operates as a family-friendly neighborhood brewery serving house-made craft beer in a relaxed, welcoming environment. The brewery regularly hosts community events, live music, markets, and family-focused gatherings. Gather is designed to be a space for neighbors, families, and friends to connect and feel like they belong. 

In 2026, Gather will open its second location in Eagle, Idaho, continuing the same mission in a new community while maintaining its roots in Texas.
